25 March 2006 - 26 March 2006 - Dublin Championships - Open Platform Feis

The Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa Oireachtas Ata Cliath 2006 is being held on an Open Platform Basis and is Open to Teachers, Schools and Dancers Throughout the World.

That is being Hosted by Scoil Rince Ní Mhaoláin.

These Championships are being held over two days on the 25th & 26th March 2006 in Our Lady of Good Counsel Hall, Drimnagh, Dublin 12, Ireland.

Dear Teachers,

I would like to invite you once again to our Annual Championship Feis the Scoil Rince Ni Mhaoláin Oireachtas Atha Cliath 2006 that is been held on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th March 2006, in Our Lady of Good Counsel Hall, Mourne Road, Drimnagh, Dublin 12. We have been running this Championship a couple of years now and each year it gets better with schools from all over Ireland and England taking part. This Championship Feis will be run on an “Open Platform” basis, which means every school is invited to compete. I hope you will take this opportunity up to enjoy good competition along with a great atmosphere.

These Championships will be held over 2 days, with solos for Beginners A, B & NPW on Saturday along with Bun (A) Grad Awards, Tus (B) Grad Awards and Mean (NPW) Grad Awards. On Sunday there will be Open solos along with Open Solo Championships and Non Championship Holder Championships, Open Figure Championships and a Special Modern Set Dance Championship.

Please see the below and it will explain how your dancers can qualify for each Championship / Award:

Bun (A) Grad Award: You will dance an A Reel but you must be A for 4 of the following dances. It dosent matter if you have won the A Reel so as long as you have 4 solos that you have never got a first place in the dances are A Reel, Light Jig, Slip Jig, Single Jig, Treble Jig, Hornpipe.

Tus (B) Grad Award: You will dance a B Reel but you must be B for 3 of the following dances. It dosent matter if you have won the B Reel so as long as you have 3solos that you have never got a first place in the dances are B Reel, Light Jig, Slip Jig, Single Jig, Treble Jig, Hornpipe.

Mean (NPW) Grad Award: You will dance a NPW Reel but you must have never won a NPW Championship or an Open Championship. It does not matter if you are open for your reel as long as you have never won the championships.

Non Championship Holder: You will dance a Open Reel. This is for any dancer that has never won a Championship under 3 adjudicators, you may win this championship 3 times before you get knocked out of it.

Open Championship : This is Open to all dancers.

Modern Set Dance Championship: This Championship is open to all dancers.

 All dances for Open Championship are on the attached program.

 Every child will be placed in all Grad Awards and Championship.

 Non Championship Holder, Open Championship & The Modern Set Dance Championship are under 3 adjudicators.

 The Rally Reel will be one step down the line.

 You may compete in more than one Championship but you cannot compete in two Championships of the same grade.

 In the case of a tie in a first place of a Non Championship Holder, Open Championship or The Modern Set Dance Championship the dancers will have to do a dance off for the first place. The dance will be the adjudicator’s choice. The marks will be put on the board before the dance off.

 In the case of a tie in 2nd 3rd in a Championship the dancers will have to share the cup and both dancers will be given a replica.
